Nancy Burnham has lived and worked in Alaska for three decades. She studied painting at the University of Alaska and Johnson State College in Vermont, earning a Masters Degree of Fine Art in Studio Art. Her work is included in all the major museums in the State of Alaska.
Most of her career has been spent creating abstract works of art. Once she learned about encaustic art techniques she was hooked. She has exhibited throughout the state exploring all aspects of encaustic art: painting and sculpture alike.
Deb Horner: Watercolor
Gallery Exhibition: Northern Wanderings
Whether on foot, by dogsled, kayak or skis, exploring Alaska and the Yukon has been central to Deb Horner’s life since moving to Fairbanks in 1990. When she took up watercolors a decade later, it quickly became apparent that landscape painting was what excited and inspired her the most. Painting is a form of personal diary for her, recording the many wilderness tableaus she has been privileged to view during her northern wanderings.
In spring 2015, the Bureau of Land Management selected Horner as Artist-in-Residence and supported a six-day retreat in the White Mountains. She produced a dozen paintings from the White Mountains trip that can be viewed on her website. She has exhibited at the annual Fairbanks Watercolor Society show, the Bear Gallery, and several smaller group shows in the Fairbanks area.

Carol Wilbur
Carol’s family moved to Alaska in 1965. After attending area schools, she attended Michigan State University, graduating in 1985 with a degree in Education. In 1986 she married Jack Wilbur, another lifelong Alaskan. In 1998 she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Metalsmithing and Painting from the University of Alaska/Fairbanks, then went on to teach metalsmithing there from 2001-2006.
Currently Carol maintains a private studio at Well Street Art Company. Her work has appeared in galleries across the state, and she holds several awards for her work in both painting and jewelry.

Betsy Bear
Betsy Bear has lived in Alaska since 1966 and has been creating art from her home studios in North Pole, Excursion Inlet, and Tucson since retiring from teaching in 2001. Her paintings reflect her love of the natural beauty and rich cultural history found throughout Alaska and the Southwest US. She enjoys painting flowers, landscapes, historical subjects, and experimenting with new subjects and mediums. Besides her original paintings, Betsy markets her own prints and notecards, and sells her art at shops in Fairbanks, North Pole, Excursion Inlet, Gustavus, and Tucson. More information about
