Join us for an annual presentation of the University of Alaska, Fairbanks’ MFA Writing Faculty, with readings by Gerri Brightwell, Daryl Farmer and Sara Eliza Johnson. Readings will include various genres and styles, including poetry, prose, short stories, and more. 

Gerri Brightwell is from southwest Britain. She has an MA in creative writing from the University of East Anglia, an MFA in creative writing from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, and a PhD in Victorian literature from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Her latest novel, Turnback Ridge, is about global warming and immigration.

Daryl Farmer is a professor at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, where he teaches in the MFA program in Creative Writing. He is the author of two books: Bicycling Beyond the Divide, a nonfiction book that chronicles a bicycle ride across the U.S. West, and Where We Land, a collection of short fiction.

Sara Eliza Johnson is originally from Stratford, Connecticut. She is a graduate of Cornell University. She received her MFA in poetry from the University of Oregon and her PhD in creative writing from the University of Utah. Her first book, Bone Map, won the 2013 National Poetry Series and was published by Milkweed Editions in 2014. Her second poetry book, Vapor, was published by Milkweed Editions in 2022.
