Saturday, April 27, 2pm – 4pm
Chatanika Gold Dredge, 29 Mile Steese Highway
An open-mic event for readers, writers, poets, lyricists, and musicians!
To celebrate National Poetry Writing Month Alaska-style, Fairbanks Arts invites writers, poets, lyricists, musicians, and all arts enthusiasts to Chatanika Gold Dredge for an afternoon of poetry and lyrics in the uniquely industrial scenery of Dredge #3. This free, public, open-mic event is a great opportunity to get outside after winter and explore the exciting history of our town, all while immersing yourself in our local literary and performing artistry!
We suggest you come prepared: Bring extra layers of clothes, a lawn chair, and maybe even a picnic for your coziest experience. This is outdoors in Alaska after all and no one knows what April has to say about the weather!
Fairbanks Arts would also like to thank Patty Peirsol and Jane Haigh with Chatanika Gold Dredge Company LLC without whom this events would not be possible.
Fairbanks Arts programs are made possible by individual and corporate contributions, the City of Fairbanks Hotel/Motel Bed Tax, Fairbanks North Star Borough and Alaska State Council on the Arts.
