Kick off the 2019 Literary Reading Series with Fairbanks Arts Association and Roger Topp during the first reading of the year in the Bear Gallery!
Previously from Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Yorkshire, Roger Topp came north for the nightlife and received an M.F.A. from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. At the extremes, he is a six-time state and one time national champion fencer, winner of the Farthest North Fiction Contest, and a prize-winning slam poet. More typically, he directs museum exhibitions and travels to write and photograph research fieldwork funded by the likes of the NSF and National Geographic. This last year, his fiction and nonfiction have appeared in The Maine Review, Dunes Review, Into the Void Magazine, Crab Fat Magazine, Circle Show, and Whiskey Island Magazine. Additional work is forthcoming at the Bennington Review.
