February in the Bear Gallery features two exhibitions exploring transformation and inner landscapes: Luminous Darkness by Maïté Agopian and Finding the River by Olena Ellis. On view February 6–28, 2026, the exhibitions invite visitors to engage with shadow, memory, and personal change through immersive installation and sculptural form.
In conjunction with Luminous Darkness, Agopian will lead a series of small-group workshops in shadow puppetry and mask-making for children, families, and adults. Workshops take place February 18 and 21 and are limited to six participants per session.
The Bear Gallery is located on the third floor of the Alaska Centennial Center for the Arts at Pioneer Park. Admission is free and open to the public Monday–Saturday, 12–6 p.m.
