Fairbanks Arts invited Interior Alaskan artists to take part in our new Spring Juried Exhibit. This new exhibition will be thematic (much like Patterns of Influence had been), the theme of which will be voted in annually by the public. The theme chosen by Fairbanks Arts supporters for our first spring juried exhibit is Convergence.

Convergence is open to: Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Ceramics, Glass, Printmaking, Video, Jewelry, Photography, Mixed-media, Fiber.

In April, suggest a theme for the
2018 Spring Juried Exhibition!

photo of Joel IsaakArtist Joel Isaak is the juror for the 2017 Fairbanks Arts Association Spring Juried Exhibition. Isaak expresses himself through a variety of mediums, such as acrylic painting, ceramics, glass, wood, metal, and often including natural materials such as halibut, salmon, and moose skin. He received his BFA in Sculpture from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and his MFA in Sculpture from Alfred University. His cast bronze and salmon skin works are featured in the permanent collections of the Sheldon Jackson Museum, Ted Stevens International Airport, and the Kenaitze Indian Tribe. Isaak will spend the day judging the artwork submitted for Convergence. In the evening, he will give a presentation about his work in the evening. The artwork selected for the show, however, will not be revealed until the First Friday Opening Reception.
