At the Fairbanks Arts Association, our mission is to promote traditional and contemporary arts in the Interior. Please join us on Saturday, December 15, in supporting a wonderful local business who has done much to support the Fairbanks community (and even find a meaningful gift for a loved one)! FAA has chosen Well St. Art Company for a special cash mob appearance.
A note from Shannon Daut, executive director of the Alaska State Council on the Arts:
‘When we buy local we increase the impact of our dollars by keeping the money within our communities and within the state. Locally owned businesses are crucial to the health of our communities, not only because of their economic impact but also because they are committed to working within the community to strengthen it. But . . . what’s better than buying local? Buying local ART!
As the holiday gift-giving season is in full swing, we are taking this opportunity to feature a number of local businesses that highlight and sell Alaskan art and creative goods. A number of these communities are also organizing “cash mobs” to highlight a local store in their town.
What is a cash mob? Basically, it’s a flash mob that assembles people at a specific location to buy goods from a local store, rather than to sing or dance, which is what flash mobs typically do. You can see a recent Today Show clip that explains how they work.”
The cash mobs will all occur on Saturday, December 15th at 1:00 p.m.
Join us this coming Saturday to find lovely gifts for the holidays, support our local economy, and support the arts in the Interior. see you at WELL STREET ART COMPANY, located at 1304 Well Street.
