Please join us as four of UAF’s Literary Faculty and Staff

convene to read their recently published work.

Eric Heyne is Professor of English at UAF, where he has taught since 1986.  He has published poems in Ice Floe, Alaska Quarterly Review, Platte Valley Review, Cirque, Poecology, and elsewhere, and essays on American literature and narrative theory in journals including Modern Fiction Studies, Narrative, Western American Literature, River Teeth, and Extrapolation.

Sean Hill is the author of Blood Ties & Brown Liquor (UGA Press, 2008).  His second collection of poetry is forthcoming from Milkweed Editions in 2014.  He lives in Bemidji, Minnesota, but has moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, to join the creative writing faculty at UA-Fairbanks for the 2012-2013 academic year.

James Engelhardt’s poems have appeared in the North American Review, Hawk and Handsaw, ACM: Another Chicago Magazine, Terrain.org, Painted Bride Quarterly, Cirque, Ice Floe, and many others.  His ecopoetry manifesto can be found at octopusmagazine.com.  He is the acquisitions editor at the University of Alaska Press.

Christopher Lee Miles’ work appears in Connecticut Review, Sugarhouse Review, and Eclipse, and new work is forthcoming in Christianity & Literature, Salamander, and West Branch.  A veteran of OIF and OEF, and a recent graduate of UAF’s MFA program, he is an adjunct instructor for both the eLearning & Distance Education and the English Department.
