Description:
A juried survey of moving image arts by independent film and video makers, including both amateurs and students. The panel of Film Jurors consider the technical and creative merit of the work and choose a winner in each category. Jurors are chosen from industry professionals and university faculty statewide to ensure the broadest spectrum of critical appraisal for the competition.
Eligibility:
Open to filmmakers currently residing in Alaska.
The submitted work must not air on national television before March 16, 2015.
Work must reflect the artists unique creative effort.
Instructions:
Films must be on a DVD playable in a common DVD player
OR submitted via private YouTube link or Vimeo link.
Films not in English must be subtitled in English.
Please submit your film with the fee:
Adults $10.00
Student (Elementary, Middle & High School or University) $5.00

Hand Delivered to FAA’s Office, 1st floor, Alaska Centennial Center for the Arts,
Pioneer Park, 2300 Airport Way, by 6 pm on March 16, 2015
Mailed to PO Box 72786, Fairbanks, AK 99707, Postmarked by March 16, 2015.

Winners will have their films screened and receive cash prizes.
Categories with Prizes:
Elementary (Kindergarten-6th Grade, Any Genre) – $25
Middle & High School (Grade 7-12, Any Genre) – $25
University Student (Any genre) – $50
Documentary Feature (Nonfiction, Over 40 min.) – $100
Documentary Short (Nonfiction, Under 40 min.) – $50
Dramatic Feature (Fiction, Over 40 min.) – $100
Dramatic Short (Fiction, Under 40 min.) – $50
Music Video (any length) – $50
Animation (any length) – $50
Please note: Students may enter films in the category for their age and compete against filmmakers the same age in any genre or length OR they may choose to enter their film in a genre category and compete against all filmmakers in that genre. For example, if you are a a 7 year old filmmaker who has made an animated short, you may enter it in Elementary and compete against Elementary students or enter in Animation and compete with other animated films.
